I just bought a D-Link switch: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000FITKK8/ref=ox_ya_oh_product
and it does not have a wan port, just ports 1-8, how am I supposed to connect this to my router so I can connect more things to the internet?

I believe you can use any of the ports to connect to the router. See manual page 17 "Any of the eight Gigabit Ethernet ports are ideal for uplinking to a network backbone or network server" (that’s admittedly not very clear)
You might want to check with D-link support (1.877.453.5465) to verify this
